Christy Bean Rowing (she/her)
executive director, CITY OF WASHINGTON CDC
Christy Bean Rowing has worked to move the city of Washington forward by leading a focus on downtown main street revitalization, blight remediation, and community wellness. Working collaboratively with community leaders, funders, and local groups, the CDC has completed blight surveys, home rehab projects, and supporting community projects.
Prior to coming to the CDC, Bean Rowing worked in the nonprofit sector primarily focused on food insecurity. Her career includes experience in advocacy, fundraising, and program design. She believes that community development is a prime example of “if you want to go far, you must go together”.
Bean Rowing serves as a member of the Bayer Center Executive Service Corp. When not working, she loves to travel and is a reluctant hiker. She lives in Mt Lebanon with her husband Allen, her two labs, and occasionally with her college-aged children.
